XERAuditor offers free, browser-based utilities for project planners, schedulers, project controls professionals, and project managers who work with Primavera P6 XER exports. It has two tools: the DCMA-14 XER Schedule Auditor for an initial schedule-quality review, and the Schedule Reader for reading a schedule as a Gantt chart. There is also a public Community section for schedule discussion.
The auditor parses supported XER data in the user's browser and evaluates the fourteen schedule-quality checks implemented in the tool, with an overall schedule health score and detailed findings.
The Schedule Reader opens a P6 XER file and shows the schedule as a Gantt chart grouped by WBS. It supports baseline columns (primary, secondary, and tertiary baselines found in the file), filters on every column header, sorting inside each WBS, collapse and expand, relationship lines, float, a look-ahead filter (1 week, 1 month, or custom dates), activity detail, and PDF or Excel export of the current layout with or without the Gantt chart. Dates and float are shown as exported by P6; the reader does not reschedule or recalculate the schedule.
Both tools are designed for client-side processing. Your XER file is read by the browser and does not need to be uploaded to an application server for the analysis or for reading the schedule. PDF and Excel files are generated in your browser.
These tools are schedule-review aids. It is not a certification of compliance and does not replace professional schedule analysis, contractual requirements, Primavera P6 validation, or an organization's approved project-controls procedure.
